Unlike many other eldercare facilities, Virgil is an innovator. To provide our residents the best eldercare experience, we turn to cutting-edge technology and the most innovative treatments. Whether through improved medical software or tools for improved socialization, we are always thinking technologically to improve our residents' experience.
Once our renovation is complete, our facility will provide personal televisions for each resident, giving them access to cable (including foreign channels and programming). Our residents will also be able to make the hallways outside of their rooms more personalized with digital montages of cherished photos. In addition, an electronic daily calendar of activities will let our residents know what is planned for their day.
Electronic records and reporting permit our staff to spend more time focusing on your loved one and less time filling out paperwork, improving the quality of care. It also simplifies the process of retrieving the information that is important to you – providing you the assurance you need that your loved one is receiving the best care available.
All of Virgil’s medical records and reporting will now be conducted electronically, on touch screen computers, using software provided by ADL. Virgil's on-site IT department keeps the staff up to date on the electronic medical records system and keeps the system running smoothly. This simple update, while rare in the eldercare field, is immensely beneficial.
Virgil is one of the only eldercare facilities with its own IT Department. This team of dedicated technical specialists provides our staff with support and assistance, ensuring that your loved one can benefit from the latest technology, including electronic medical records and web access.
Sometimes you may be too busy with your daily responsibilities, and find yourself unable to visit your family in our facility. This is why we are in the process of implementing web cams at Virgil. Through free Internet services like Skype you will be able to see and speak with your loved ones in real time, even when your schedule prohibits you from visiting them in person. In addition, computer kiosks will provide our residents with Internet access and video chat in public spaces.
When you’re ready to bring your loved one to an eldercare facility, you want the process to be as easy as possible. We have developed an easy-to-use application form that will allow us respond to you quickly. Download the pdf version now.
And this is only the beginning. We are constantly researching and testing new technologies – whether to improve our treatments and services or our residents’ quality of life.
Technology has the power to improve experiences across the board, which all translates to a warmer, healthier, and more welcoming environment for our residents, their friends and family members.
